We just added this great old post card of the Vermeulen Memorial Funeral Home to our collection. Although it is not dated, the home was completed in 1964 and received local and national attention (according to the back of the postcard) and the name was changed to Vander Plaat in 1970 so the card could be late 60's.According to the Vander Plaat Vermeulen website, "the Vermeulen Memorial Home, established in 1964 by the Vermeulen Family was constructed as a funeral home and the
residence of William Vermeulen Jr. Purchased by the Vander
Plaat family in 1970 the name was changed to reflect the merger
of two of New Jerseys most respected family owned funeral
homes. "

I am the grandson of William Vermeulen Jr. He designed and built this home and many of the antiques that were in it at the time. Quite an accomplishment!
